Why We Built LitArc

We all know that the querying process can be frustrating and painful on both sides. There’s a reason people call it the trenches, after all. That’s why we worked with literary agents and authors for over a year to find out what would be most helpful in a centralized tool meant to take the place of email or spreadsheet submissions tracking. LitArc is a workflow platform for the publishing community: literary agents, authors, editors, and more. It helps agents manage submissions, track author communications, and discover talent, all in the same place.

We’re lucky enough to have a team of creative, talented developers who have implemented so much feedback into updating LitArc so agents like you can get the most out of it. It’s clean, searchable, and meant to optimize the process, making life easier for everyone involved.

LitArc was built with the understanding that publishing is largely a relationship-driven industry. Behind every query is an author who has spent months or years developing their work, and behind every inbox is an agent balancing an overwhelming number of submissions. We wanted to create a platform that reduces friction on both sides, helping communication feel more organized and transparent. By simplifying the administrative side of querying, LitArc gives agents and authors more time to focus on what actually matters: discovering great stories and building meaningful creative partnerships. 

FAQs

Is LitArc free?

We offer a freemium version with limited query volume and search access. Paid plans unlock advanced filters, team features, and more access to search and processing tools.

Can a whole agency use LitArc?

Yes, there are admin and communication features available. Agencies can route queries to different agents, view and manage client communications, create feedback forms for audience feedback, and even embed a form on their website for queries to go right to LitArc. Demos are available to highlight more features.

Is LitArc for authors too?

Of course! It’s a great tool for submitting queries, managing manuscripts, and getting discovered by agents. Rather than querying as many agents as they can find, authors are able to find the agents whose wish list most matches their manuscript. There are also tips and tools like Comp Title Finder to help authors enhance their query letters.
